Videohouse acquires the first European MediorNet system

Videohouse acquires the first European MediorNet system The Belgian company VideoHouse has been an institution in the media sector for many years now. Domestic and foreign television channels, government bodies, production companies and producers have all called upon Videohouse's experience and expertise. Guy Kreydt, head of video, tells us why VideoHouse has chosen for the MediorNet system.

"We have ordered 8 MediorNet racks which will be used for the two brand new HD OB-Vans. We were already searching an all-in-one solution", tells Guy Kreydt. "All the other competing systems have just point-to-point connections without the combination of audio, video, intercom and LAN. MediorNet can be setup in every network topology and it will transport all kind of signals over one single fiber. Usually the distance between the set and the OB-Van is 100-300m. So with MediorNet we don't have to do all the cabling (audio, video, intercom, LAN...)which saves us a lot of time and money."

"The combination with the control system VSM makes it a full integrated system. With this combination we can build a "rapid recall OB-Van" where we can change the total configuration with a few clicks to load a file. We need to have such solutions to have an OB-Van that is flexible enough to do all kind of jobs such as sport games, television shows, concerts... "

"Actually the MediorNet racks can be a prolongation of the matrix system in the OB-Van. Thanks to the small 2RU design, the mobile regie can be kept small which is easy to setup. With the different network topology possibilities we can put the MediorNet frames where they need to be. So on the set the system also can decrease the cabling."

Guy Kreydt: "The first time I heard about the MediorNet system, I thought it was just a good theoretical idea. After I have got a real demonstration of the system, I realized Riedel had the perfect quote: It is not a vision, it is a real production reality!"
