Michiel Lukassen : "Two Digico SD7 consoles replace six analogue desks"

The second edition of "Groots met een zachte G" of the dutch singer Guus Meeuwis has taken place in the Philips Stadion of Eindhoven. It is the first time with Guus that the sound engineers John Van Heertum (FOH) and Michiel Lukassen (Monitoring) will use digital consoles.
Michiel Lukassen: " In 2006 (the first gig of Guus Meeuwis in the Philips Stadion) we used two Heritage 2000 in the FOH and two Heritage 3000 for the monitoring. As support we had a XL200 and a LMX. "
By the increase of the band in 2007 they had to change their technical set-up. They used two XL4 on the FOH and two Heritage 4000 for the monitoring. As backup they already had two Digico consoles, a D5(monitors) and a D1(FOH).
For the second edition of "Groots met een zachte G" in 2008 Michiel Lukassen and John Van Heertum wanted to use the same set-up of 2007. However after the first brainstorming with Guus Meeuwis they concluded that they needed consoles with more inputs and VCA groups. Michiel: "We have 16 in-ear systems and a total of 54 monitor-feeds. With 30 musicians on Stage, we need extra inputs". They searched an appropriate console and they found out that it was a perfect job for two SD7's (FOH and Monitoring). The consoles were rented out by the Belgian rental company EML Productions. Enjoy the movie. back to overview
