BCE and RTL chooses Omnia

The two Omnia 6FM's will be placed at the transmitter-sites in Dudelange and Hosingen.  The Omnia 4.5FM is choosen for the Astra satelite feed.

The Omnia 6FM is the top-of-the-range FM-processor of Omnia including 5-bands AGC and 6-bands of limiting with stereo expander.  The remote-controll of the unit is over TCP/IP and will be integrated in the extensive IT network of BCE.
The choice for the Omnia 6FM was made after carefull listeningtests with an audio expert of both BCE and RTL, and a German specialist.  Omnia 6FM was the only right choice for the format in the highly competitive market place.  The Omnia's will be replacing the existing Orban Optimod 8100's of the station.

In order to keep the same identity of the station, RTL opted for putting an Omnia 4.5FM in the Astra satelite feed.  Together with the optional stereo-expander the 4.5FM with its 2-band AGC and 5-band limiting is the perfect processor for this feed.

And what is even better... the audience is really loving the change in sound.  Now the station sounds far more open and clear than in earlier days.  It's really CD-quality now !
