VRT Radio chooses for DHD

DHD is the well known Germain (Leipzig) brand for high-quality, yet still affordable, digital broadcast consoles. DHD has a verry wide custommer base worldwide with satisfied clients like BBC Radio 4 (UK), RTV oost (NL), BRF (B), Radio NRJ (Austria), WDR (D), SWR (D) MDR (D), Sud Radio Toulouse (F),… The new Digital Mixing and Routing system RM4200D is the latest product in its range. It is a Powerful Digital Mixing Console for On Air Applications: Broadcasting, Pre-production, Outside broadcasting, Video post-production.

The console for VRT has 16 faders, and the large DSP-control master section.  It has a full overbridge-panel with 2 configurable rotaries per fader.  The interface is connected over CAN-bus to the DSP-frame.  This frame holds all I/O cards, GPIO's, DSP's and Power Supplies necessary for the good operation of the console.  The DSP-frame has no fan and is thus excellent for OB-applications, where back-ground noise needs to be reduced to a minimum.

The console was fully configured, following the specifications of VRT, by an Apex project engineer.  Also the factory acceptance and technical training was done by this engineer.  'It's always been our goal to offer our clients not only a good product, but also the know-how wich is needed for this kind of high-technology products.  This know-how is in-house and our project engineers are getting regulary trainings to keep up to date with new technologies.  This results in an added value to our professional custommerbase' says Paul Van Hees, MD of Apex.
