Soundtracs launches the DS-00

MODULAR DIGITAL POST / BROADCAST CONSOLE AT NAB 2003

Soundtracs has announced the launch of a major new console aimed at the broadcast, post-production and music production marketplaces - the modular, expandable, digital DS-0, offering an exceptional package of features and flexibility for its price point. The console will début at the 2003 NAB Convention in Las Vegas on May 7-10.

Soundtracs' latest console can be tailored to meet any requirement within its intended applications, thanks to a combination of an extremely powerful proprietary DSP engine and a wealth of versatile features under the control of twin backlit TFT touchscreens and a clear, instantly programmable control surface. The DS-00's modular design allows a studio to add further facilities and expand the control surface as and when required.

The main mixing console of the DS-00 provides a 17-fader surface with 64 fully featured channels and 40 busses. It has two large, full colour, backlit TFT touch screens, with eight user defined macros that are instantly programmable with single or multiple functions.

The DS-00  is capable of handling stereo, LCRS, 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound, and the 40 x 8 matrix has two calibrated levels and insert points for Dolby insertion. It comes with eight line/mic inputs, 16 line outputs, 24 AES/EBU I/O with SRC per XLR and 8 optical I/O. A second MADI port is provided for DiGiTRACS connection or third party editor connection.

The optional EX-00 is an eight-fader unit with a single digital touch screen, allowing expansion of the work surface to up to 49 faders. Up to four EX-00s can be added to the standard DS-00  system.

The final additions to the DS-00 family are the FP-00, a specially developed film panel for large format film mixing and the HD-00 19” rack section.
