Coda Audio line arrays powered the « Paris en toutes lettres » Festival
"Paris en toutes lettres" is a yearly literature festival in the center of Paris and was divided over more than 20 venues. The two biggest venues were located in the "104" where Coda Audio powered the artists in two big halls, "Espace Cabaret" and "Atelier 4".In the "Espace Cabaret" they used an LA4 system supported by 2 PW418v² subwoofers. The LA 4 system consisted of 12 LA4 tops and 4 LA4subs. The LA4 has an ultra compact size, low weight and exists of 4" neodymium planar wave driver (patent pending), Two 5" neodymium ultra low distortion cone speakers with a wide horizontal coverage of 110°. The vertical curving is from 0° to 20° in steps of 2°.
Jeroen Sierjacobs, marketing manager of Apex France, says: "Because of the literature readings in the "espace cabaret", it was very important to have an equal dispersion of the sound. The hall had a depth of approximately 35m and therefore they opted for this small and compact line array. The two PW418v² subs were added for a DJ gig at Saturday night".
Cédric Duminy, Manager of Regietek (rental company who installed the festival) adds:" I really was astonished by the dispersion of such a small and compact system. The LA4 is really the perfect system for this sort of events."
The second hall was "Atelier 4" where Rock, Pop and Chanson concerts were programmed. This hall asked for a more powerful line array, so the organization chose a LA8 configuration. This LA8 system consisted of 12 LA8 tops and 4 LA8subs combined with 4 PW418v² subs. The AIRLINE LA8 is a compact two-way full range line array module with two 8" neodymium ultra low distortion cone speakers and two 4" HF neodymium planar wave drivers with a horizontal coverage of 120° or 60° (option). All four drivers are physically time aligned. The vertical curving from 0° to 12° in steps of 1°.
Sierjacobs continues:" The goal in this hall was to have a heavy powered system with still enough definition. Thanks to the 4 additional subs in combination with LA8 system, it really had a high Rock'n Roll factor, but still with a homogeneous sound. The hall had a depth of 25m, so it was no problem for the LA8 system to cover it all."
The PW418v² is a double 18" high output subwoofer that provides powerful and extended low frequency response with immense headroom. The PW418v² is equipped with twin extremely long excursion 18" neodymium ultra low distortion woofers. The neodymium motor delivers extreme high magnetic flux for increased efficiency. The 4" voice coil is 38 mm high, ensuring ultra linear excursion of 26 mm / pp at consistent magnetic force. State-of-the-art cabron-fiber cone ensures maximum stiffness and low moving mass.
