Apex expand their dB-series at Prolight+Sound 2009

The first release, the dBDI-2, is a highly featured active two-channel DI-box. The dBDI-2 will make the life of sound engineers, musicians and even DJs a lot easier. With the dBDI-2, Apex has enhanced one of the world's oldest standard audio devices to simultaneously provide added features and improved performance. Each channel provides XLR, ¼" jack and RCA input connections with transformer isolated balanced XLR outputs. The device's extruded aluminum design and extremely durable side-cheeks enable it to be used in practically any environment, while an optional 1U 19" rack panel enables two devices to be conveniently rack mounted. In addition to traditional DI features, the dBDI-2 can be used as an active splitter or even a summing device. The dBDI-2 is just as at home in a studio or multi-media facility as it is in a club or on-the-road.

The dBZ-48 stereo distribution mixer is an ideal solution for fixed installations, live sound, multimedia and broadcast applications. Housed in a 1U 19" rack enclosure, the dBZ-48 features two stereo analogue inputs and four stereo analogue outputs. Each stereo input provides clear LED metering, mute, mono sum and gain adjustment. Similarly, each stereo output section comes fitted with identical features, with the addition of independent mix controls for both stereo inputs, allowing individual stereo mixes to be sent to each output. The dBZ-48 can be used in applications such as a zone mixer or stereo/mono distribution amplifier (fixed or on-the-road).

Last but not least Apex presents the dBZ-48d, providing the same feature set of the dBZ-48 with the addition of integrated digital signal processing. Each of the four stereo outputs feature user-selectable delay, in addition to 24dB/Octave high and low pass filters, making the dBZ-48d an ideal solution for system designers looking to mix and distribute stereo sources to multiple destinations. All DSP parameters are adjustable from the front panel via a comprehensive set of controls and a clear alphanumeric display. The dBZ-48d also offers eight memory presets enabling configurations to be stored and recalled from the front panel. An ideal feature for touring applications or multi-purpose venues. The dBZ-48d is ideal for use in the swift and effective process of time aligning distributed audio systems in addition to time alignment of audio/video systems in tour sound and install environments.
